Room Attendent

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, Room Attendants are responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include: servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures, stocking cart with room supplies, and replacing bed linens and replenishing guest room supplies. This position requires strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, and the ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking all day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Complete full service for assigned number of rooms within allotted time.

  2. Strips and makes all beds in guestrooms according to company standards.

    1. Cleans hotel according to standards and within required timeframes to include but not limited to: making beds, dusting furniture, sweeping, washing walls, scrubbing floor, washing windows, doors panels and sills; emptying trash, vacuuming carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies; cleaning bathroom sink, toilet and tub/shower stalls.

    2. Replenishes supplies such as bathroom necessities, drinking glasses and writing supplies.

    3. Transports trash and waste to disposal areas.

    4. Uses all materials, chemicals and tools safely to avoid injury, waste, unnecessary damage or accidents.  

  3. Keeps housekeeping supply cart neat and organized at all times.

  4. Maintains guest hallways neat and free of linen at all times.

  5. Checks all equipment prior to and after use to ensure that it is in good working order.

  6. Follows guest identification procedures before letting persons into guest rooms.

  7. Ensures all lost and found items are logged appropriately 

    1. Be familiar with guest scenarios and follow-up on all guest requests and concerns, effectively adhering to the service recovery process.

  8. Knowledge of hotel facilities (Business Center, Fitness Center, Pool, Meeting Space, Parking Lot).

  9. Aids guests in locating other areas of the hotel (walk them to destination if possible).

  10. Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; completes safety training and certifications. 

  11. Follows all company policies and procedures; ensures clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintains confidentiality of proprietary information; protects company assets. 

  12. Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.

  13. Actively engages guests. Identifies the needs of our guests and meets these needs, aiming to exceed expectations at every opportunity.

  14. Delivers personalized, memorable guest experiences.

  15. Assists laundry as assigned.

  16. Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Some hotel experience preferred - minimum 3 months. Ability to manage priorities and be able to adapt to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Excellent guest services skills required.

License/Certification: A valid driver's license is preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to exercise excellent communication, organization, time management and listening skills.  Fluency in a second language is an advantage.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to guest-oriented situations. Must have a sense of urgency
